I LIKE THE BOOK BECAUSE I CAN RELATE TO THE BOOK AND I WAS LI,KE THAT BEFORE AND I JUST WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW DONT BE SCARED TO COME FROM BEHIND SOMETHING
I am standing here facing the world In front of my eyes is the biggest waterfall in the world (Niagara Falls) It feels like the water is falling harder and harder every time But listening to it I can feel the calmness and I wish I could stay here forever I wonder if the rocks at the bottom could speak what would they say Maybe that they can't take it any longer Or maybe the speed of the water is really hurting them So now am speaking for me and for them The water is falling fast Like the expectations that are being thrown on me For me to be good student A good Muslim To have a good future To go to a good college I just can't take it But like the rocks I can't speak I can't move I just listen and obey And whatever happens, happens
it doesnt rhyme (i like poems that rhyme) but i wrote it last year actually standing infront of Niagara Falls.
THE BRONKS MASQUERADE IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I EVER READ.ONE OF THE REASONS WHY IS BECAUSE ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN THE BOOK CAN BE RELATED TO REAL LIFE SITUATIONS.
Who Ever Wrote That Poem Its Awesome. I Really Like It Because I Feel The Same Way Especially About Beinq A Good Muslim. You Shouldn't Have Put Anonymous Its An Amazinq Poem & You Shouldnt Hide Behind Closed Doors.

the book is very interesting. The characters and their problems seem real and some students probably can relate to it so it seems realistic and so i like books that are like that. ------ Ronasia Davis
Arij, Your poem is beautiful and powerful. It made me remember how much I love my own mom and as sad as I was when she passed - at least I had the opportunity to know and love her. You will be able to teach your cousin what a wonderful mom he or she had. Thank you for sharing your poem. Ms. Short
Her fists clenched in agony Her head bent in despair She's holding it all in Running fingers through her hair Her throat feels swollen from the held back tears And her eyes can't stay dry But she can't let it happen She won't let herself cry The pain is stamped on her face But she tries to not let it show Puts a smile on her face And goes with the flow She knows she has to stay strong She knows she can't be weak But she knows she failed miserably As a tear rolls down her cheek... ~Natalie Mooney
You have a wonderful gift for poetry! Please continue writing and sharing with us. Both of the poems I think really relate to the struggles of everyday life. Keep it up!
they set us in seperate boxes catagorizing us by what they assume. but its not the box that we decided to choose. They label them by who they think we are setting us as different and boring. But the fact is that we are unable to show who we are. But some are afraid to speak up and say im important . they wrap us in boxes left to be thrown away but i will make no exception the box will not be my place. i will stand alone and leave the box in which they believe is where im suppouse to be because the box is not where im suppouse to be -------- ronasia davis

My name is Ms. Constantine. I am very excited to be here at H.W. Smith, and even more excited to begin reading Bronx Masquerade and learning more about you. While reading the novel, we will be exploring issues of identity and stereotyping in our own world. At the end of the novel, we will work to publish our own H.W. Smith Masquerade! This blog will be an area for in depth discussion and poetry and narrative publication. Feel free to post at anytime.
I like the book because it's a good book. I have read something like it before, it was called THE BOOK OF WOLVES.

I really like the book because it's about kids and school. Also it's fun to read and when you start to read it you just won't to keep going on.

I am standing here facing the world
ReplyDeleteIn front of my eyes is the biggest waterfall in the world (Niagara Falls)
It feels like the water is falling harder and harder every time
But listening to it I can feel the calmness and I wish I could stay here forever
I wonder if the rocks at the bottom could speak what would they say
Maybe that they can't take it any longer
Or maybe the speed of the water is really hurting them
So now am speaking for me and for them
The water is falling fast
Like the expectations that are being thrown on me
For me to be good student
A good Muslim
To have a good future
To go to a good college
I just can't take it
But like the rocks
I can't speak
I can't move
I just listen and obey
And whatever happens, happens

Hope you enjoyed...if it was something enjoyable?
A new day beginning
ReplyDeleteI've got a smile on my face
And maybe outside its raining
But soon there will be a rainbow in its place
The sky is a dull grey
Not a patch of blue in sight
But I know everything
Is gonna be alright
Living life to the fullest
Just a roller coaster ride
I'm taking all my worries
And pushing them aside
Because a new day is beginning
I've got a smile on my face
And maybe outside its raining
But soon there will be a rainbow in its place

Kinda sucks..sorry
